(MNYS) - I am praying for another Pentecost, right now, here in the Metropolitan New York Synod. Coming away from an amazing Synod Assembly, I am praying for
another Pentecost for all of us, our congregations, our church.
What a strange thing this is: the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible talks about it in at least two ways. First, as the abiding presence of God in Christ, with all the safety and comfort that relationship promises. This is the Spirit most of us know and love – the Spirit of peace and concord – the one that smoothes our ruffled feathers and revives our weary souls, the one that is with us always, whenever we have the good sense to breathe in and say thank you.
