"If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness". Isaiah 58:10

Service is our faith-filled response (made possible by God) to God’s freely given gift of grace and forgiveness through Christ. Martin Luther suggested that the more that we meditate on the cross and God’s freely-given gift of grace, the more we will find ourselves wanting to respond to that grace with loving service to God and to the world.

Our mission, "Sharing Christ's Welcome", calls us to join together and go out, freed in Christ, to serve and love our neighbors in our local and global communities.  Service activities offer an opportunity for us to explore one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans: that all of life in Jesus Christ – every act of service, in every daily calling, in every corner of life – flows freely from a living, daring confidence in God’s grace.

Our current mission focus areas are:

  • Hunger/Homelessness
  • Equality/Justice
  • Earthcare
  • Campus Ministry
